Derry Solidarity with Sacked P&O Workers

Solidarity action with sacked P&O workers in Derry City centre today, organised by Derry Trades Council followed similar action in Belfast and the port of Larne supporting all those P&O workers currently under threat of redundancy.

Members of the IWW Ireland Branch together with a number of unions gathered in Derry's Guildhall Square expressed their anger at P&O bosses and the ruthlessness in which they treated 800 worker's at a number of ports.

Several speakers called upon the wider trade union movement must now step up and challenge those bosses within P&O to demand workers are reinstated while others called for an effective boycott.
