Members of the IWW in Galway supporting the ex-workers of Debenhams in their fight to get fair redundancy pay from a company using stock from their Irish subsidiary to boost the profits of the parent company in the UK and online sales. The action comes as part of a series of nationwide solidarity protests to highlight workers demands who have been shafted by Debenhams.
To date former Debenhams workers have refused to have their demands ignored by placing a number of pickets outside of stores as well as blocking removal lorries taking away stock at stores in order to pay shareholders and creditors first before workers themselves are considered.
