Our Solidarity Must Continue With Workers in Palestine

The Industrial Workers of the World took part in solidarity actions with Palestine over the New Year. Actions organised by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign took place around the country in towns, villages and cities expressing continuing support and solidarity with Palestine and for an immediate end to the genocide.

Members of the IWW Ireland continue to support weekly actions to help raise awareness of the unfolding genocide with others for community and trade union groups. Ireland has become the most vocal since the latest wave of terror was directed at Palestinian workers. A spokesperson from the IWW Ireland Branch spoke following the New Years Eve actions across the country stating:

"Despite the bad weather people have remained upbeat, showing our unbreakable solidarity with our Palestinian sisters and brothers in the face of apartheid Israel’s genocide at our annual New Year's Eve Vigil for Gaza. We will not stop until the people of Palestine have achieved freedom, justice and equality for the people of Palestine themselves.

"It is the belief of our union, that only the workers of Palestine can decide upon their own future. Not the politicians, not the Zionists and their Western backed governments who have aided and abetted the genocide that the world has been witnessing. Let no one deny that they did not know of the genocide being brought upon the people of Palestine at this time. It is up to all of us to be on the streets, to help bring this nightmare to an immediate end and for the perpetrators brought to justice."
