IWW members joined with a host of campaigners in Cork today against last month’s An Post announcement that it was reducing the number of mail sorting centres from four to three.
Just last week at a mass meeting in Cork over 100 affected workers met to establish the Cork Mail Centre Action Group determined to “fight the closure and defend our jobs”.
Today’s action was said to have been the first of many actions now planned to oppose any closures in Cork and was attended by over 1000 workers and supporters which included the Industrial Workers of the World.
