The Industrial Workers of the World Belfast branch today offered our ongoing solidarity with the couriers currently taking industrial action against Deliveroo to coincide with the corporation’s Initial Public Offering (IPO).
In a statement issued at the start of this strike action, a spokesperson from IWW Belfast said, "We condemn the Deliveroo pay model, which was recently revealed to leave some riders earning as little as £2 per hour, and we fully support the IWGB's assertion that 'Deliveroo presents a false choice between flexibility and basic rights.'
"We offer our support to all riders in taking direct action for better working conditions, security, better pay and to be valued as workers. It is vital that each of us stand with workers at Deliveroo and echo their demands."
