Solidarity with QUB 3 - Drop the Charges!

Members of the Industrial Workers of the World extend its solidarity with three activists facing court action following a recent Palestine solidarity action at Queen’s University in Belfast.

Family, friends and comrades attended court proceedings in central Belfast earlier today in a gesture of solidarity with the activists. Solidarity actions also took place in Scotland and Wales.

A representative of the IWW spoke following today’s action, calling for all charges to be dropped immediately:

"The IWW union condemn all charges that these three activists are now facing. For many who came out on the day, it was to help highlight and raise awareness of the ongoing genocide in Palestine and those who are complicit with it. In what was largely a peaceful solidarity action, many quite rightly felt that the actions of the police were nothing short of intimidating or thuggish. A deliberate tactic to silence the voices of those sickened by the complete annihilation of Palestine and its people.

Solidarity with Palestine: Outside Belfast Courts

"What is clear to many, is that the only ‘crime’ involved here was opposing a genocide that generates income for Queen’s University Belfast, Lockheed Martin and serves the financial interests that control this government.

“As a union that has actively opposed imperialism, militarism and capitalism throughout our history we stand by the activists now facing trumped up charges at Queen’s. In doing so, we call for similar solidarity actions until all charges are completely dropped. The real criminals here are the Zionist terror regime of Israel and the real crime is genocide”
