Fellow Workers from the IWW Belfast Branch were pleased to attend the ICTU organised Trade Union Rally against racism and far-right at Stormont on the 8th of August.
An IWW spokesperson said "There was a very good turn out and no counter demonstration. Stormont has been recalled due to the scale and extent of racist and xenophobic violence in Belfast over the last number of days.
"As a union, we took part in this action, along with progressives and trade union comrades of every kind. In doing so, we would like to express our solidarity with the people of Belfast as we stand up to racism and Islamophobia. There was a unifying feeling from today's action as workers, that an injury to one is an injury to all."
Over the coming days, we will be taking part in similar solidarity demonstrations and counter protests. We call upon our members, supporters and fellow worker's to join with as we take a stand against racism wherever it raises its ugly head.
